Just the look I had asked for, and the quality and workmanship is beyond description - you have to see it. The entire process was very easy and efficient. During the design process they never made me feel like questions and changes were an issue - even when I thought I was "perfecting" the design. They completed the project right on time, and stored the top for me while I waited for my prep to finish. The shipping process was just as easy, and the protective case that was custom made for my top was an impressive fortress that was even difficult to destroy after unpacking! A: Hello Pamela, Zinc is extremely durable, making it a desirable surface material. Zinc is used in countertops, range hoods, roofing, flashing and artistic designs. Zinc's timeless patina makes it a stunning material for many architectural designs, from traditional to contemporary, blending beautifully with other materials. Zinc is a metal that has a number of characteristics that make it an ideal choice for use in busy kitchens and restaurants. Zinc's natural properties provide years of virtually maintenance-free usage. In addition, zinc's blue-gray and brown patina blends beautifully with most building materials and surroundings, both in contemporary and traditional settings. Additionally, zinc is non-porous, anti-microbial and anti-bacterial. Zinc is also 100% food safe. It has a smooth surface that is easy to clean an maintain. Zinc is a living alloy which responds to its environment. Changes in the hue of the table tops will happen naturally with use. A patina, or darkening, will occur over time. Keep in mind that while different foods and beverages may make a mark on the countertop, because these metals are non-porous, it is virtually stain resistant.
