Almost 30 days later, still no estimate from him. On April 26, 2017, I called his office. The lady that answered said they were having some software issues and said that she'd send the estimates out in the next 15 minutes. After a couple of hours, I sent an email to Todd inquiring about the estimates. When we met Todd, of TK Construction, we immediately knew we had our builder. The addition consisted of a two-floor mother-in-law apartment that included a full kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom, as well as a lower-floor family room/office. At the same time, we extended our kitchen by 3x and added a spacious family room. Concurrently, we had a detached three-car garage with a full upstairs studio/workshop built with the exterior to match the house. The experience with TK was exceptional from the beginning to the end. The team was responsive to our requests and offered good suggestions that met our needs. The custom work and craftsmanship are exceptional. To a person, everyone was courteous and pleasant to work with. We have a 1931 stone house and we were very particular about who to hire. The project stemmed from our desire to expand and remodel our kitchen. However the entire project included reworking the back half of our first floor, moving and redoing our first floor bathroom, removing our old deck and replacing it with a new and improved one (which now has a roof w/skylights, speakers, an outdoor TV and fireplace). They also added a mudroom to our lower level, reworked our game room and moved the basement powder room. While they were at our home we also had them remodel our 2nd floor main bathroom. The finishes for our project were very important to us and TK handled it all beautifully --- providing us with new stone on our addition to match our existing stone and lots of wood trim inside the house to make all of the new spaces feel like they were original. The results were amazing! Beautiful custom work with amazing customer service. Part of the work was remodeling and part was new construction. Todd worked with us to develop a plan that met our schedule. Jarrad, TK’s superintendent, provided continuity and coordination for the project by staying on the job throughout its entirety. Although the start of the project was delayed two months, Todd and Jarrad managed their subcontractors, material acquisitions, and labor to complete the project on time and within our budget. As the old saying goes, “the proof is in the pudding”. Our new home has turned out far better than we ever imagined. We are so pleased with the quality of the work and craftsmanship throughout the construction and finishing in our home. They DON'T CUT CORNERS !!!! DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND LOOK NO FURTHER THAN TK CONSTRUCTION FOR YOUR HOME BUILDING AND REPAIR NEEDS. **★ — imthe1st1, Feb. 2016** > TK Construction was contracted to complete the construction of our new home after the initial contractor was terminated for several incredible reasons. TK was also contracted to repair the mistakes made by the initial contractor. There were several problems with the construction performed by TK, mostly quality issues and improper installation by his employees and subcontractors. At the near completion of the project the punchlist was huge. Todd Klippa refused to repair almost all of the defects his crew was responsible for. He also refused to complete the project. The quality of workmanship was extremely disappointing. At the time of construction, we were aware that TK had at least two crews of direct employee's. Maybe the other crew is much better. I would be happy to share more details on request. The work performed by TK began in 2014 and ended in 2015. **★★★★★ — carolhurley, Feb. 2016** > Todd and Heather were great to work with. They made the building process as easy as possible and the quality of the work was outstanding. This was a big job! We tore down half our house, dug out a basement and then built a first and second floor. The renovation included 3 baths, a kitchen, mudroom, family room, master bedroom and 3 porches. The TK team was friendly and every one was a skilled carpenter. Furthermore, they didn't disappear after completion of the project. As with any building project, there were little things that popped up post construction. They were very responsive when we called about our punch list. We have and we will continue to recommend TK. We did two additions. The front of the house is so disjointed and I think a front porch could bring everything together. Any suggestions would be so appreciated!
