She has a lot of great experience since she has been in the window coverings business for years and she has a lot of creative ideas to solve those problems that always seem to pop up. Following our remodel we had new blinds installed in seven rooms, some in very tight and difficult windows. They came out beautifully! In addition, before remodeling our bedroom, her installer took down our very heavy draperies, as well as the wrought iron rod and fixtures that were bent from the drapery weight. After a bit of searching we managed to find the manufacturer of the old rod, finials and braces so that we only had to buy a new rod - since the new rod had the same insertion hardware for the finial as the old and the rod was the same size that fit the rod holders. Saved some money and the installer did a fantastic job of remounting everything so that the rod can much better handle the weight and will not bend. > All in all a great experience with no hitches but good fixes on their part. I do not know the name and manufacturer of this paint color. Michelle **Q: is this Fabric okay for Dining Room Drapes ?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Need opinions on this fabric for drapes in my dining room. I don't like the drapes I have now. The drapes I have now are gray and white, so blah. Should I go with new drapes in the fabric below or try to work with the ones I have. Can anyone suggest a different fabric ? A: I like both of the new fabrics. I do agree with nieuanima and maybe paint the walls the blue color in the draper fabric for some more punch of color. **Q: Hi. Can you let me know what brand of Cellular TD/BU shade this is?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: These are cellular shades done by Norman Window Fashions. **Q: window coverings? Solar shades or Hunter Douglas Nantucket? Help!** *(in Design Dilemma)* We have sheer panels on either side of our sliding glass doors. The sheer panels have a horizontal stripe running through them. Now we need to cover the sliders and are trying to keep the afternoon sun out. Because of the horizontal stripe, we are concerned about using Hunter Douglas Nantucket or Pirouettes. Perhaps solar shades is the way to go. Our house is contemporary. My concern is whether the solar shades are too plain and whether the Nantucket (with its horizontal slats) will be too busy next to panels that also have a horizontal design. I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you. A: I use 5%. This you can still see out of but, still provides enough UV protection. Usually the screen shades are around 63% to 80% coverage from UV rays. The lower your % the better the coverage. 1% I feel is extreme because you really will not be able to enjoy your view.
