Sam was the original builder of the home and intimately acquainted with the plans and architectural style. He is passionate about his work and strives for quality and perfection which we greatly appreciate. The estimates were accurate to the final costs, and the project was completed ON TIME which is a rare occurrence for contractors. He and his wife/assistant made it really simple for us to manage the project from afar with minimal involvement. We lived two hours away during the renovations and the Verchers were in constant communication with us. His sub's were professional and people we would hire directly If necessary. Sam is trustworthy, witty, passionate, a man of integrity and a true craftsman. Sam was talking about home construction as he got his hair cut. My husband was impressed. He came home and told me he thought we may have found the general contractor we were looking for to build our home. After talking extensively to Sam, meeting his foreman, checking his references, and walking through some of his builds, we decided to go with Sam. His cost was a little more than we had planned for, but we were hopeful that the extra money would be worth the value received. We were not disappointed. The entire experience for us was a pleasure rather than a worry. Sam had contractors working on site every week day from the start of the project to its completion. No time was lost. All the contractors he used were skilled, courteous and pleasant. They all did great work. Sam understood our vision of a farmhouse in the country, and he worked with us to make that vision a reality. Sam is a skilled carpenter in his own right. His houses are quality built! While our house was in the framing stage, the framing foreman told me that our house will be standing here 100 years from now. He and his superintendent are in to details! All of the subs were good, honest crews. Our job superintendent Wayne Summers was tuned into the smallest of details and was always on top of everything. His wife Janie, stayed on top of paying all the subs and bills efficiently. She does a great job. > During the planning stage of several meetings, Sam sits down with you, listens to your wants, expectations, discusses them with you, then in a short time he will give you his bid and then you can make your decision. People invariably will change (upgrade) some of their "wants" along the way and Sam will try his best to keep them in budget.
