As with any custom products, sometimes orders come in incorrectly from the manufacturer. Unfortunately in your case this happened several times with the same item. We will use this experience to better inform future customers of potential hang-ups with that manufacturer you chose. Finally, we apologize for the incident with your new patio door that got stained from improper handling of spray insulation. We hope that by ordering and installing a completely new door we have been able to remedy that particular issue to your satisfaction. What materials did you use & how did you make it? A: Wow, this is a great idea! Very innovative nice work. **Q: New Windows Replacement, Tearout, Aluminum, Fiberglass - Thoughts - Suggestions** *(in Design Dilemma)* Decided I should really look at new windows before getting window treatments - original windows from when the house was built (1959). of course the wood has stood the test of time but the exterior screens and storms (triple tracks) have seen better days and that's being kind. I LOVE the look of my windows - something called plaster wrap inside. 2 window places said only option was replacement windows. The one did say complete tear-out is option but he would never do it - too much risk of damage to walls. Not sure that's try - hoping someone might know. Also, if looking at replacement, I'm told I'd lose some glass size unless i go with fiberglass (vs. aluminum). Again, hoping someone might be familiar with fiberglass. First guy said he had a window that wasn't a replacement but not a tear-out either. Tilt sash replacement kit by Weather Shield. The fiberglass or aluminum are both Marvin. I welcome any and all input. photo's attached A: Many replacement windows offer a 'slimline' option, this way you don't lose any glass space. Fiberglass windows are superior to Aluminum windows in many ways. Fiberglass expands and contracts at the same rate as the glass which will eliminate any condensation between the glass, which will hold up to Mother Nature much better and last much longer than any wood, vinyl, composite, or aluminum window. Also, replacement window installation is much more affordable, time friendly and safer than new construction installation (referred to as a 'complete tear-out' above) because you avoid damaging any of the exterior and structure. **Q: Love the cafe curtains!
