A: Hello.  You will need to replace the cartridge once you notice a significant drop in water pressure.  The replacement cartridges can be purchased here on Houzz.

A: Hello Orville,
The unit is attached to the main water line where it enters the home.  It must be connected to the cold water feed before it splits to your water heater. This is typically in either a garage, crawlspace or basement (depending on type of home).  It must be installed vertically and at least 6 inches above the ground.  The port sizes on this unit are 1-1/2" and can use either a standard 1-1/2" male threaded adapter or a 1-1/2" thread male compression fitting (if connecting to copper).

A: Hello.  The cartridges typically last between 4-6 months depending on water usage and existing water quality.

A: Hello. It is relatively easy to install yourself if you have a basic understanding of plumbing, and we have a number of customers that do install these themselves. We do however recommend using a licensed plumber to ensure that the unit is installed correctly.

A: Hello Linda.  Yes this would be good for a 1500 square foot house.  This unit will work with homes up to 2500-3000 square feet.
