> I recently purchased recessed lights from Torchstar and I am extremely satisfied with the product. The lights work great in my house. The installation was straightforward and the quality of the lights is outstanding. I would highly recommend Torchstar's recessed lights to anyone in need of high-quality lighting. Great job, Torchstar!

> I needed a low voltage system for my front yard where I just planted a bunch of new landscaping. Leonlite had everything I needed and was super easy to install! Its only been a week so I can't speak to durability and life of the stuff but upfront it seems to be working great.

> Poor quality products. LED retrofit lights stopped working about 1 year. Customer service not very helpful. If the contractor does not retain receipts, warranty will not be accepted.

## Community Q&A

**Q: light fixture ideas for Galley Kitchen and Dining** *(in Lighting)*

Any ideas on lighting fixture for kitchen and dining room since they are so close to each other… attached a picture of the kitchen inspo

A: In the small space of the dining room and kitchen, you can choose lamps with small footprint and concealed installation, such as downlights or lamps under cabinets. In the dining area, you can consider installing a chandelier as the main light source.

**Q: Master Vanity- Mirror and Sconce Design Question(s)** *(in Home Decorating)*

After selecting sconces for the master bathroom, I've realized they might be too large. I'm looking for suggestions. What would you do? The first picture shows the look I was aiming for, while the last photo is the mockup. Looking upon my notes and photos, the design seems off-balance. The sconces appear too heavy for the mirrors. And with a large gap in the middle. Change sconces? One mirror? I heard sconces above mirrors are not preferred because of shadows. Thank you so much, in advance.

A: It is recommended to add a wall lamp in the middle of the two mirrors. This can supplement lighting, provide a more balanced light distribution, and help reduce shadow problems.

**Q: Should I replace these ceiling lights?** *(in Home Decorating)*

There is a big one and there is a smaller one:) The big one is in the middle of the living room and the smaller one is in the passageway. Should I replace them or should I make peace with them? Rustic chandelier perhaps? Or something flush mount? Jute or rattan woven pendant? And should I replace the sconce lights as well?

Please note: In the meantime, the stonework on the island has been removed. The uppers will soon be removed and replaced with floating shelves. The TV bracket will be lowered. Curtain treatment will be linen or cotton sheer curtains and natural wood, bamboo, or grass shades. A jute, seagrass, or sisal rug will be beneath the living room furniture.

Feel free to provide any other design advice, no matter how random. All suggestions are welcome!

A: Your home decoration looks a bit close to Mediterranean style? Mediterranean-style houses are usually suitable for matching lighting fixtures with ocean and natural elements, such as rattan chandeliers, ceramic wall lamps, wrought iron or stone chandeliers, etc., to coordinate and unify the lighting fixtures with the overall atmosphere. Professional home lighting offers you more choices.

**Q: Pendant Lights over an island...what's the trend in 2024?** *(in Other)*

Any great ideas for lights anyone? I'm searching for pendant lights x 3 over a large island in a kitchen that has hob on it but otherwise is for seating.

We have marine blue units, wooden worktop on the island, marble/white worktop round the side, old farmhouse table and grey tiles on the floor. Handles in brushed chrome so could match that or my inclination is to go for black.

We do want to have soft lighting in the evenings over the island and to sit there for chatting etc so nothing that shines too much in line of vision.

Other lighting in the room is white and recessed or slightly protruding (but not pendant as the wires suggest)

A: I suggest you choose black pendant lights to match the marine blue cabinets and wooden island countertop, which will be more coordinated. Considering that you want to create a soft lighting atmosphere over the island, you can choose pendant lights with shades to avoid shining too much in the line of vision. Additionally, to coordinate with the other white lights in your room, you can choose black pendant lights with white interiors or white glass shades underneath. This not only provides sufficient lighting but also maintains the overall style of your room. I hope this is helpful! Professional home lighting offers you more choices.

**Q: Bathroom Design Dilemma** *(in Home Decorating)*

In a small hall bath, the sink/toilet share a wall as shown, and there is a shower opposite this wall.

The wall with the sink/toilet is designed has bothered me since moving in. Specifically, it seems odd that the mirror stops where the toilet is, instead of spanning the whole wall, and it also seems odd the way the light is above the sink, but off center regarding the mirror,

When the sink and toilet is on the same wall, is it typical use a smaller mirror, vs. extending the mirror across the wall? I guess it could be awkward for a man who is using the toilet to be facing a mirror ...

What is your suggestion for that wall? Just hang a picture in the space above the toilet, and forget about it? Replace the mirror with a full wall mirror, and replace the light fixture with a longer one that spans the mirror?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice.

A: It looks odd maybe because the size of the mirror doesn't quite match the size of the vanity. You can try replacing it with a smaller mirror; If it's inconvenient to keep the light fixture in the center, you can consider placing one on each side.
Professional home lighting offers you more choices.

**Q: 1 large chandelier or 2 medium?** *(in Lighting)*

I have an industrial/modern type reception room I need to get lighting for. The room is 14 ft high, approx 17x20 , with exposed ceiling in off black. According to the size of the room, my chandelier shd be (L+W in ft converted to inches) 38" but does this account for the high ceilings ?
Hall (also exposed ceiling) has clear globe pendants w black downrods. The front door is glass and the hallway is an important line of sight straight back. That is why i was thinking of doing two chandeliers in the areas of the front room "flanking" the hallway.
So do I put up TWO 20" chandeliers ....or look for one giant 38-40" one (expensive!)
Appreciate
your help!

A: Are you considering using a rectangular chandelier? Modern minimalist style, with a wide coverage of lighting. This design is not only easy to clean but also the LED bulbs do not need to be replaced, very practical and energy-efficient. Such a chandelier will add a modern touch to your reception area and provide a comfortable and bright lighting atmosphere. Professional home lighting offers you more choices.
