I am very happy with the way the kitchen turned out and would hire them in the future and definitely recommend Genesis Contracting! ### All 6 reviews **★★ — MLindsey, Oct. 2023** > I contracted with Genesis in July, 2023, to level/screw down a kitchen floor; lay new vinyl plank flooring; replace a 2'x2' wall area; install gas shutoff valve; install new appliances; hook up kitchen plumbing; and fix corner baseboards due to flooring installation. Quoted $2,500.00; Deposit paid $1,775.00 - 7/6/23. First issue - Scott/his son failed to pick up requested key so they could access to do subfloor (materials already delivered by Home Depot). After not hearing from Scott, I ended up taking the subfloor down to the joists myself and reinstalling the new subfloor (this was on Wednesday night, my new cabinets were installed on Friday). Thereafter I spoke with Isaac who appeared apologetic and promised he would be on top of the remainder of the job. The flooring got laid; the appliances got installed and after my countertops had been installed I called Isaac and requested the dishwasher and plumbing be hooked up. I was initially told Friday, which turned to Saturday, and then Monday. When (Ethan) arrived I asked about the other work, he advised he was only there to do the plumbing. He came back the next day and stated he had not been told about the other work. While he was there I asked him to level a cutback wall and lay 3 pieces of laminate flooring (Charge was $700.00). When I spoke with Isaac on 10/10/23 to get settle up on my bill I brought up the work that had not been fulfilled on the contract. He took the original contract and subtracted amounts that were not the actual pricing for those jobs (i.e., subfloor $200.00; gas valve $350.00; unknown about wall repair - nothing deducted); Basically he priced these items so that after charging me the $700.00 he would still get the benefit of the full price contract. At my estimate I was initially told that my appliance installation would be no more than what Home Depo had initially charged - HD refund receipt was $550.00; I don't know how much 50 feet or less of floating vinyl plank flooring costs to install but I doubt its that much. I requested (3 times) a bill with itemized line charges, to which my request was ignored. The first invoice I received on 10/10/23 stated "PAST DUE" in big bold letters; and reflected the incorrect down payment. I the second invoice still had the incorrect down payment and did not have the company logo on it, nor my line charges. To my last request I was told "Just Pay the Bill". I did pay the invoice only to have a receipt generate stating that I still had a past due balance of $550.00. I contacted Isaac, he said "Just Ignore It". Any prospective client should be leery of Genesis; homeowners need to micromanage their job/billing; force them to work while you are at your home in lieu of them just wanting access; and make sure they give you an actual line cost breakdown on their estimate from the very beginning, otherwise when they fail to fulfill their contract, you will not receive the proper credit towards your bill. **★★★★★ — HU-153230617, April 2021** > I have used Genesis Contracting over the past ten years for numerous projects to include two full bathroom remodels, a kitchen and mudroom upgrade, installation of hardwood floors, and numerous smaller electrical, plumbing, and carpentry projects. Bottom line that I will not use anyone else. Their work is always top-notch and there are never surprises, delays, or cost increases because the owner, Isaac R, is involved in every step. I have not found an issue that he couldn’t solve.
