I have been playing the piano for many years now, and I don't think that the appearance of the piano ever changes the quality of the sound. This looks beautiful and very rustic. This piano looks like it has been well used and contributed to the talent of many great musicians.

Ha, you'd probably like a neon pink strad as well, lol!

wow! I'm so glad you responded....I just love it! looks distressed is that right? What Valspar products did you use to get that incredible look? At the company I am Director of Sales & Marketing here in Houston, I have a full team of interior, exterior, environmental and graphic designers. Which designer's alley would this be down? What is "pro-refinishing"? Thank you so much for your reply, I'm very grateful.

I'm on the road traveling for the weekend, so I'm not able to look up the exact products - it was done several years ago so it's not top of mind (I've actually redone it again since this was posted) but remember a white base, a turquoise, a clear crackle treatment and some weathering techniques. The pro refinishing was meant to insinuate finding someone who professionally refinishes furniture. That or perhaps a mural artist, I'm honestly not sure. I'd ask the interior designer you work with, maybe they can be of help determining someone to help you. Good luck!

The heart sticker on the song sheet is quite appropriate. What song is the sheet music for?

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Becky Harris added this to City View: Dallas Design Corrals a Range of Styles
As for rising trends in Dallas, Dickman has her eye on the hot art scene. "There is a major art movement happening in Dallas, from a more bustling and ever-expanding downtown art district to the resurgence of some grittier but much-loved neighborhoods, like Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts," she says. "A specific interior trend I’ve noticed is a lot more personal, self-expression pieces featured that span artistic mediums or even hybrids of several.""For example, here I did a rather wild DIY paint job on an old piano to play off a map theme in my office. It manages to work alongside more rustic vintage pieces, such as the entry bench to the right and a rusty metal wheel at the top of the stairs. It’s a complementary blend, like the house — a new-construction home that has historic Craftsman style. That’s similar to how most of Dallas considers itself: the best of both worlds, blending contemporary with rustic."
Lisa Frederick added this to Wagon Wheels Are on a Roll
A wagon wheel peeks from the top of the stair landing in this home. It harmonizes nicely with the wood surfaces and distressed accents and adds a little levity to the eclectic, brightly colored setting.
