I completely understand when designers won’t reveal all details—it’s their work, creativity, and talent that has been paid for by their clients. I’m just grateful they are willing and able to share so many gorgeous inspiration photos for us to gather. As far as things like paint colors and faucets go, I don’t worry about specifics. I look for similar products. In this case, I’d check out Chicago Faucets for a similar look.

Beautiful soapstone! Do you know if oil was used or wax to bring out it's gorgeous dark color?

That is black soapstone. It looks like they've oiled it to darken it from its natural grayish color.

The designer answered that question June 9th, 2014, if you just scroll down a little bit. "All cabinets & walls were painted Dunn Edwards Cottage White. Thanks." :)

We are looking at using soapstone counters in our kitchen remodel. Do these hold up well?

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Becky Harris added this to Houzz Tour: A Beach Cottage Gets Its Vibe Back
With a small kitchen, functionality is key. “Nothing is fussy,” Collins says. He chose soapstone, because it was appropriate to the home’s era and incredibly practical. “I was able to have a drainboard carved into the stone, which is both practical and a nice design detail,” he says. “I also felt the color contrast of the dark stone prevents your eye from getting bored.” At the same time, he kept the eye from getting overwhelmed; the cabinets are a simple Shaker style. Collins added coastal details here and there without going overboard. For example, the refrigerator handles are solid-brass deck cleats from a nautical antiques store, and he hung two seaweed prints on the wall. Sink: fireclay, Rohl; faucet: Sign of the Crab; vintage seaweed prints: Winter Works on Paper
Alison Hodgson added this to Soapstone Counters: A Love Story
One of the things I most love about soapstone is its beautiful and timeless appearance. People worry about fads, and while soapstone is a very popular choice right now, there’s no need to worry about its being a trend that will date your kitchen, because it’s a classic. Soapstone has been used in farmhouse kitchens for hundreds of years.
Laura Gaskill added this to 10 Upgrades for a Touch of Kitchen Elegance
10. Decorative details. Framed artwork on the wall — and not just “kitchen” art but art you could just as easily hang in another room — can add polish to any kitchen.See more of this houseVintage seaweed prints: Winter Works on Paper
Becky Harris added this to 10 Things You Didn't Think Would Fit in a Small Kitchen
7. Artwork. In a galley kitchen, giving the eye a beautiful place to rest at the end distracts from the narrowness of the space. These are vintage prints of seaweed, which bring a coastal texture indoors. Vintage seaweed prints: Winter Works on PaperSee the rest of this home
Becky Harris added this to 10 Top Backsplashes to Pair With Soapstone Countertops
Paneling. The paneling appears throughout this small Laguna Beach cottage, for a vintage look that creates continuity in the home. As in the previous photo, the kitchen has a low coordinating soapstone backsplash but the paneling dominates most of the area. One exception is the range backsplash, which extends a large piece of soapstone up the wall. Also worth noting is the integrated dish-drain grooves next to the sink. This is a practical, old-fashioned detail we often see in traditional kitchens with soapstone counters. See the rest of this home
Karen Egly-Thompson added this to Staged for Success: The Case for Hiring a Home Stager
Which Rooms Are Most Important to Stage? While it’s ideal to stage all the rooms in your house, your budget might not stretch that far. If you can do only a room or two, rooms should be staged in this order of priority, according to the NAR 2015 Profile of Home Staging: living room, kitchen, master bedroom, dining room, bathrooms, children’s rooms, guest bedrooms.Sarikhani also advises that homeowners not dismiss “forgotten” spaces. She recently turned a large furnace room into a fetching little home office.Process and What to ExpectProcess. An initial in-home appointment with a professional stager usually lasts between one and three hours. The stager will likely take photos and may draw a simple floor plan. He or she will determine what should stay, what should go into storage and what items might be moved to different locations, and will assess the property’s general readiness to be staged. The home stager will also discuss timing and availability, and supply an estimate and options, usually after a couple of days. If the proposal is approved, a contract will be drawn up and a staging day scheduled. Staging typically takes one day, but large properties can require more time. The home will be destaged after it has been sold or as per the contract. It’s a good idea to interview more than one home staging company, look at all of their portfolios and ask for references from previous clients. Find home stagers
