The floor is a porcelain tile that has been discontinued but you can probably find something similar at a tile shop. It is charcoal and ivory. Thank you for your interest in our work!

The German Silver Sink was original to the 1929 home- we saved it and repurposed it in a different location.

What is the countertop around the sink made of?

  • ardnasac13
So the entire stainless steel countertop around the sink is custom made? Not a unit? Great work!!
  • M R
No Stainless, it's all German Silver, which is a Copper - Nickel alloy.

We actually used a porcelain tile in this project- although the exact tiles are discontinued there are several similar options available.

This is terrifc...are the cabinets custom? if not, who are they by? Thanks for your help!

Is the sink custom too? If so what is it made out of and is it one piece or a sink, countertop, and front piece?
    • M R
It's an original German Silver sink that was probably made by Elkay in the early 1900's, it's all soldered construction and meant to look like one piece.

The typical restaurant models are SS and much later models that usually have smaller basins. This is a sink from the 1800's early 1900s. I have about seven different styles in stock ranging from single basin to double basin, some with apron and some with backsplash as well as drain board models. Its always nice to find another one of these rare early sinks.

Note the sink in this picture/discussion is not a common or everyday Stainless Steel sink. In fact it is not a SS sink at all. It is a rare German Silver sink. Not really a silver sink, but a copper sink with special nickel based plating. These were popular in the late 1800'sto early 1900's and were in well to do homes primarily. Some industrial models can be found from the better hotels or high end bars etc. Here are some other examples.
