@charmalloy, I'm sorry I didn't see your message! The artisan is Sean Sheppard at Silver Crow Studios in Westfield, IN.

I don't have the color of the paint. The artisan worked directly with the homeowner to custom match a color based on her pieces of Deruta Pottery.

The real question is where do you live. Some states, like California, where I am, have environmental laws that prevent quality finishes and glues, making pre-fab cabinets a better quality product.

Some local California companies follow regulations using AQMD certified spray booth and equipment that allow them to purchase and use the high-quality Conversion Varnish Finishes. See the AQMD website for more information. It is false that companies in California can't provide these high end finishes. We struggle with changing the uninformed public's perception everyday because that is what the pre-fab cabinet companies want you to believe. Your best bet is to explore your options and be an informed purchaser.

The beautiful blue cabinets!? - Hi! Beautiful kitchen, I'm trying something similar & wanted to know if you could share your process on how you got the blue cabinets to look so amazing!? I'm looking to color my white oak bar cabinet that separates my kitchen & dining room. The bar top is mahogany. So far, I applied 1 coat of Santa Monica Blue to a piece of white oak. Would really appreciate your advice! Thanks Chris

The finish on those blue cabinets is STUNNING, as are the shapes of the trim work and the drawer pulls......I wouldn't mind having an entire kitchen done in those!

Sink - Why is the sink so ridiculously low. It makes a lovely space unlovely. Unless one is about 5' it would be unbearable to use for more than a couple of minutes.

Great 60/40 split copper sink - I just am ready to install a 60/40 copper sink, and am looking for suggestion as to where the faucet is centered... To the center of the sink? Or where the bracing/seperation between the 60/40 split happens? Hope you can help, as there aren't very many pictures of a 60/40 split sink.. Thanks in advance...

Yes, I'd also love to know this beautiful blue color of paint. I'm sure it is a custom color.

You center the sink and faucet to the window. So I would say the faucet would be center of window frame.

Copper is a living finish. it will patina over time. There are polishes that you can use to revive the finish, but it won't look exactly like it does the day it is installed.

Tina, you can see the stove area in this photo http://www.houzz.com/photos/115944/Rustic-Kitchen-farmhouse-kitchen-indianapolis

This kitchen would probably run in the $50-$75/k range.

I would very much assume the sink and surrounding cabinets are standard height and the blue cabinets are taller

All the cabinetry in this kitchen is custom, including the blue cabinets. The doors were ordered from a door supplier called Conestoga. The finish was applied by a local artisan on site. The countertops are wood.

The countertop around the sink is honed granite called Golden Lightning. The blue cabinet sit on wood countertops.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Lisa Frederick added this to Two-Tone Cabinet Finishes Double Kitchen Style
5. Diversify a neutral palette. This kitchen could have been a study in brown, but the glazed peacock blue cabinetry gives it energy and a hit of sass. Introducing a dramatically different finish is easier and feels more natural when the cabinetry evokes the impression of freestanding units, like this hutch-style approach.

Cas Hill added this to yaya01's ideas
not the style of cabinets but the color combo, blue cabinets on top and wood on the bottom

Cabinets stained with color, not painted.
