What is the paint color?

  • Michelle Marsh
Wow, eggshell? Is that your most commonly recommended finish? I am going to repaint my main areas in the home and I currently have flat/matte and I LOVE it.....however I now have children. I now have magic eraser shadowing here and there and need to repaint it all, yet would like something washable that won't require touch-ups. What do you recommend? THANK YOU!!

You can go wireless and put all of your components in a closet.

I agree with Wendy at JW Interiors. A wireless system with a universal remote is the best tech upgrade I ever made. I recommend it to my clients. All the components can be hidden this way. I also custom design shallow niche/insets for TV screens with the outlet planned down to the inch so the screen looks built in and no electrical cables are hanging out.

I would test it with a knotty pine sample in the room its going in before painting. A tester sample is priceless!

This is a coffered ceiling vs a tray ceiling. A carpenter would "beam" out squares using 2x6's. He would then overlay this with 1 x 6 pine. A crown moulding would then be applied to the inside of all boxes. Everything gets primed and painted. You must have at least 9 foot ceilings for this to work as you will be coming down 6 inches. This is a model home so the components are installed. I do like to have contractors build a custom-sized inset/niche in the drywall to accomodate the TV. I also like to determine in a plan where the components and electrical outlets will go to keep everything invisible. Currently, I highly recommend integrated wireless systems with a universal remote. You can hide the components and still access through the remote.
