Thank you :) I´ve made it myself. The shade was green and I painted it white. Afterwards I paintet it inside with goldpaint, added bronzepowder and goldleaf.
The shade is from Ikea. God luck with your hunt :)

We love this room too, Monessa!

This room is so wonderful because it's light, bright, and playful...and they weren't afraid to mix things up. None of the bigger pieces really "match" per se, but if you look closely, there are subtle accents which refer back to those pieces - and that creates balance.

The black and white of the cowhide is picked up in the picture frames...so is the brown of the armchair. The pink spindle backed chairs are counterbalanced by the throw on the couch, and the green (love green & pink) of the plants in the room. Notice also that the pink chairs are see-through, which balances out the heavier proportions of the sectional and armchair.

So, our suggestion is to create a light neutral palate, and then add some pops of color with things that you love. As you go, try to add some smaller accent pieces to bring those colors onto other parts of the room. All in all, you will end up with a design that is eclectic, but balanced - just like the room above.

Below are some other examples of rooms we love, for the same reasons...

There is a lot of great art, and furniture as well, most of which is found in Houzz's Product section. Everything is sorted by colors and woodgrains, so choose your favorite and see what's inside!

Hello monessabacon, sharing with the class? What class...
Regarding your question, setting objectives is good, but artwork and accessories can't be done until all the large pieces are in place. Start with your area rug, paint, and space plan. Then set the tone based on the pieces you've gravitated to (e.g.: sofa, chairs, table, lighting etc.) This photo shows a very eclectic style with country mixed in with modern and collage of artwork. The tying bind is the art work with the table and chairs, they bring continuity and harmony to the space by staying with painted finishes, carved wood feed, soft country vibes. Same with the painted hardwood floor. The sofa, area rug and pendant fixture are modern, which create tension. Always interesting to create tension between genres in interior design. Good luck with you project and your class!

I want to paint my floorboards, what should I use?

Purchase a paint that's specially designed for floors, usually labelled 'porch and floor paint'. Do good preparation and consult your paint store for specific instructions based on the product you purchase.

Love the chair with arms, where does it come from? Is it all wood?
