What is the width and height of the side shelf section? What is the width of the middle TV section? Beautiful! Thanks for your help!

Where is the shelf for the receiver so that the unit has air, and does not get overheated?

Do remote controls work through wood doors?

a lot of homeowners set up a small device on or near the TV that will transfer the signal to the other components that are hidden behind cabinet doors. this same thing can be set up if the components are hidden in a closet or elsewhere in the house

It depends on the technology. If it's Infra red it probably has to be line of sight. If you're using Bluetooth it can be hidden. I control my WD live tv with my phone or iPad.
