It's hard to tell from the photo, but the cabinet pulls look similar to the Lugarno pulls from Restoration Hardware.

I too love the cabinet color - esp nice with the carrara marble. Can anyone out there suggest a similar color? If so It would be greatly appreciated. I think this may be one of those colors that can be hard to get "right"

I painted my cabinets in my camper with Kilz then painted them with Oyster White and they turned out amazing! I know it isn't the same as a house, but just wanted to let you know that it can be done.

3. Pendant lighting. Swapping out a plain ceiling light fixture for something with more style can be done quickly — and your new pendant light can become the focal point of the room. Don’t be afraid to go big; even in a small kitchen like the one shown here, a sizable pendant looks striking, not overpowering.4. A rich cabinet color. Whether you paint your cabinets or stain them a natural wood tone, a rich color is a high-impact, low cost way to change the look of your kitchen. Try a saturated hue like the blue-green shown here, or a chic gray or slate on just the lower cabinets.8 kitchen cabinet color palettesPendant: Alison Spear for Stephanie Odegard

4. Make your kitchen less lounge friendly. This is another suggestion that goes against what many homeowners seem to want in their kitchens. These days the kitchen is the hub of the home, where kids do homework, where messages get posted and, yes, even where TV watching occurs. But, according to Wansink, this all creates a pitfall when it comes to snacking. “The more you hang out in your kitchen, the more you’ll eat,” he writes. When people removed things like TVs, iPads and comfortable chairs, they reported that they spent 18 fewer minutes in the kitchen each day. “That’s less munching on cereal, chips and Samoa cookies,” he writes.

For those who don’t have a big renovation budget, Gaskill’s suggestions will pack a big design punch without breaking the bank. Sometimes a small rug, a fresh coat of paint or even a topiary or two can make your kitchen feel new to you. Full story: 10 Upgrades for a Touch of Kitchen Elegance

4. Smells can be somewhat contained. While I know that food smells quickly move through the air and can permeate every nook and cranny, the walls of my separate kitchen do seem to help keep odors from spreading as quickly. Though my kitchen doesn’t have a door, I’m able to minimize cooking smells by opening the window and turning on the vent. If my kitchen had a door, I could close it, so that may be something to consider if you want to be able to fully close off your own kitchen.Browse range hoods and vents
