These I no longer have our source info on but check out Surya, they're a member of the sustainable furnishing council and have tons of outdoor pillows.

Hmmm. We are not the railing installers but I'd guess 2" or 3".

These were existing, and they gave it such a neat glow we opted to leave them in place! Sorry I can't be more helpful.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Becky Harris added this to Houzz Tour: Good Vibes for a Hollywood Couple in Laurel Canyon
A comfortable lounge area has amped-up nighttime ambience, thanks to small shaded lights hardwired along the tree. Ggem recommends tracking down commercial-grade lights (such as the kind used by restaurants), because they are very durable and last longer than noncommercial ones. The lights on the railings are low-voltage task lights mounted upside down and backward; they give off a very pretty glow. Ggem added lots of pillows to the woven outdoor set for comfort, while a unique fire pit provides a flame in a bowl full of water. Fire Water Fireplace: Elemental Fire
Laura Gaskill added this to Give Your Outdoor Rooms a Cozy Winter Makeover
Even a strand or two of string lights attached to the railing or snaking up a tree can create a magical mood. And you don’t need to wait until nightfall to turn them on — softly glowing patio lights are lovely on overcast days, too.Tell us: Do you live in a region with mild winters? If so, do you use your outdoor rooms year-round or “put them to bed” until spring?More: 20 Outstanding Outdoor Living Rooms
