Much needed advice....I am going crazy trying to figure this out. Our shower is 6' wide x 7 deep. bench 16" deep. Trying to determine size of heads and rain spout celiing mount size. That ceiling mount looks to be 10"? What size di you go with on the heads? How far out is that arm (6")? Would be ever so grateful for response. This came out gorgeous...

    • stylingranny
Speaking of "considerations of water, etc": Although all those shower heads are luxurious and fun, water supplies are shrinking, owing to hotter climates and increased use, and these kinds of shower stalls seem to convey a disregard for reality. Even worse, a "let them eat cake" attitude.

Generally unless it is a steam shower, it is best to leave some gap in the glass so as to ensure proper ventilation. Be mindful as well as light fixtures and sprinkler heads when planning a full-height shower as well!

      How difficult would it be to add a bench to a 7' X 5' X 9' shower?

      • jodyandmindi
A free standing bench might be a somewhat temporary option but worth considering. The tile is an Italian glazed porcelain, 12 X 24 inches each. Shower depth is 5 feet and length is 7 feet. I was considering a bench 18 inches wide and as long as the shower (7 feet). I have many extra tiles and was curious. I'm sure many of the existing tiles would have to be cut and removed as well as part of the floor I'm assuming. Clearly a job I would hire a professional to perform. Thanks for the input!
      • PRO

Yes, you would have to remove tiles in order to make the above modification. They key is "hire a professional to perform". Best of luck.

A tile assembly is not waterproof. That is what looks like a steam shower and this shower should be both water and vapour tight - ideally it would be vapour proofed with products from Noble Company or Schluter Systems.

Very good John. You are correct. This tile is vapor-proofed however. All of our tile work is professionally installed by a qualified tile installer. We often use Schluter systems on our bathroom projects depending on requirements.
