Hi - the walls are Benjamin Moore HC-153 and the ceiling is HC-151.

hi-it's a Murano glass chandelier that actually came with the house when my clients bought it....used to hang in the dining room but we moved it here and put shades on it. So I'm afraid I don't know where it's from...

That is a fabric from Kravet, but I am fairly certain it's been discontinued. However you should be able to find similar small-scale geometrics either from Kravet or another fabric vendor.

    Hi there-

I had them made by my local drapery workroom using a Beacon Hill blue and white plaid fabric.

Give detail on the color of Hallings Secretary

- Is this more og a yellow tone ivory or soft white?

I did it through Hickory Chair . They will not change the interior but will custom the exterior. I think I selected one of the blue tones that they offer but they will do any Benjamin Moore color.

How do you decide what to paint darker, the ceiling or walls? This pic changed my mind. love it

It depends on the room. In this case, the room was about 12'x12' with 10' tall ceilings -- so to try and get the proportions to feel right (instead of feeling like you were in a tiny, tall box), I painted the ceiling dark to bring it down to a more pleasing scale. If you have short ceilings -- anything under 9' -- I would only do darker ceilings in specific circumstances....for example a powder room that you want to create the sense of being inside a jewel box.

Thank you for this great answer, am having the same dilemma with the study/library in our new home (fixer-upper) - it's a bit more rectangular so more like 10'x12', but also has 10' ceilings. Am going with a similar blue on the walls (Ben Moore "Winter Lake") but wasn't sure what to do on the ceiling, and was debating between adding crown molding or faux wood beams (it will have a dark cork floor). I love the look of this wall/molding/ceiling combination a lot, and your advice is helpful for more rooms than just our study (10' ceilings throughout and a VERY small bathroom that feels more like an elevator! Definitely will go w/a darker ceiling in there!

What would you say is the effect of painting a ceiling the same shade as the walls? We've done it before in small rooms with vaulted ceilings, but they weren't 10' tall. Does it "raise" or "lower" the ceiling, or is it a wash?
