Megaprint produced the wallpaper. You tell them the size of your wall and they will produce the correct size.

Great bathroom! I love the TP/magazine storage system. How did you suspend the toilet paper dispenser? - I'm guessing the tower of TP is about 10 inches wide (interior). A standard TP dispenser is not nearly as wide. How did you suspend the TP dispenser? Is it simply a store-bought dispenser that is attached to the back of the tower? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi I would like to purchase New York subway mural and went to link above however the largest size on the page is only around 35cm x 58cm. However the mural above is considerably larger behind the toilet unit?

It's pretty smooth. But you can order it textured if you want. If you need more info, please see the Q&A section as many people have inquired about this mural and I have listed the info on how/where to obtain it. You can forward questions about the material to the manufacturer.

I love the innovative, whimsy and perspective this mural gives to such a "HO HUM" space..as a 1/2 bathroom!

Where did you get the extra-recessed toilet paper holder? I'd like to add that to my bath remodel for some extra space!

The recessed toilet paper unit is a custom job. I designed it and my contractor built it.

There are zillions of photos you can have made in to wallpaper. You just need to land on an image that is portrait in orientation. You will need to get a high resolution image so that it can be blown up that large. I used MegaPrint to manufacture the wallpaper, and I purchased the image from Dreamstime.

I wish I could be as fearless as your clients! Great work on space management. A lot of ideas can be culled from this...built-ins, use of tight spaces, perspective, convenience, even humor and taking a step back and seeing things from a different angle! I think this is a show stopper and definitely something guests will never forget. love, love, love!!!

I believe the bathroom was 4-5 feet wide. There is no pocket door. The door to the bathroom door opens outward in to the hallway, as it did before the renovation.

The TP storage was my vision. Because of space restrictions, it needed to fit perfectly in between the studs in the wall. I drafted an image of what I wanted, and then had my contractor (who is a wood worker) execute the design. It was built off site, in two sections, and then installed. I'm sure you could customize a similar design to work in other places in the house, for example, if you needed a book case in a tight spot.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Sheila Schmitz added this to Bathroom Storage: Where to Keep the TP?
These homeowners transformed their half bath with a subway station mural, and stored their toilet paper rolls in a tall cubby inserted between studs in the wall. This should keep them going for awhile.See the Before and After
Becky Harris added this to Now Arriving on Platform 2, a Playful Powder Room
AFTER: For the wall-size photograph, Konjicek-Segundo turned to MegaPrint and selected a photo of New York's Spring Street subway station. "Luckily my clients are forward thinkers, and they have great senses of humor, so they thought that the fact that the toilet looks like it's sitting on the subway platform was hilarious," she says. The perspective adds depth to the tiny room, as does the large custom mirror on the left side, which extends from the base of the sink to the ceiling. Konjicek-Segundo combined a very low-profile, modern toilet with old-school hex tile that looks like something one would see in a subway station. Tile: San Francisco Best Tile

AFTER: Designer Lisa Konjicek-Segundo got rid of the awkward niche and shell sink, making a massive photo of New York's Spring Street subway station the focal point. The clients "thought the fact that the toilet looks like it's sitting on the subway platform was hilarious," she says. More about this remodel: Now Arriving on Platform 2, a Playful Powder Room
Becky Harris added this to 7 Dramatic Bathroom Makeovers Across All Styles
AFTER: Interior designer Lisa Konjicek-Segundo of Olive Juice Designs took the homeowners' love of all things NYC and transformed their bathroom floor into a subway platform, thanks to an oversize photograph of a subway station with just the right perspective.
Shane D. Inman added this to 8 Clever and Creative Ways With Small Bathrooms
A mural. The mural in this popular small bathroom fools the eye at first glance. Poster-style murals are available at many online retailers — imagine taking a trip to Maui or the desert every time you open the bathroom door. Take a cue from this bathroom: Line the mural up with a vantage point that implies that the bathroom goes on and on for a playful, realistic touch. Now Arriving on Platform 2: A Playful Powder Room
Nicole White Designs Interiors LLC added this to Powder Room Essentials to Keep Guests Happy
My first beef? You guessed it: a lack of good old-fashioned toilet paper. I mean, you know the lavatory is gonna get some major mileage during the holidays, and yet there’s only one square left on the roll? Ya gotta be kidding me, right? Tip: Do a quick check the morning you’re expecting guests to make sure the room is well stocked. (It goes without saying that it should also be clean!) The subway mural on this powder room wall isn’t the only showstopper here. Having floor-to-ceiling shelves stocked with toilet paper is pretty bold, and I think it’s safe to say there’s enough here to last through next Christmas.Keep a reliable plumber’s number handy
Becky Harris added this to The Funniest Bathrooms on Houzz
I don’t think I’ve ever written an ideabook about a bathroom that generated more comments than this one, where the toilet appears to be sitting in the middle of a New York City subway platform.
