I'm thinking people shouldn't put their pictures on Houzz if they don't want people to comment on them AND if they aren't going to answer questions from interested parties. Just sayin'

Overscaled - Definitely not a fan of this room. The furniture layout could have been better done with the couch facing the fireplace and a chair on each side of the fireplace. Yes, a typical lay out for a room with a fireplace. Very un adorned one would ask if you were moving in or moving out.

I love this fireplace flanked with wood on the wall. As a matter of fact, this exact photo was the inspiration for the fireplace we are doing in our new home.

Have to disagree decor42. I think if you were a fan of minimalist design, as I am, you would LOVE this room!!! Kudos to the designer!

Can you recommend an insert that provides heat with styling of TCWS54 - We have specified TCWS54 for a client with a large, open plan but they would like a unit that will provide heat. Please advise.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Mitchell Parker added this to Why We Want a House With a Great View
Play with fire. Staring into flickering flames is also restorative. "Fire has the same fascination for us as long as it’s contained and there's no danger coming from it," Augustin says.
Mary Jo Bowling added this to Ribbons of Fire: 10 Artfully Minimalist Fireplaces
The narrow profile of a fire ribbon also makes it a natural for a see-through firebox.
