Thank you for your compliment! The sink and vanity are supported by a
tube steel frame that runs underneath the marble from wall to wall. We positioned the vanity 3 inches forward of the floor-to-ceilling
mirror to create a dramatic illusion of depth. Our stone fabricator was
able to cut the slabs of white marble to the exact size of the sink for a perfect
fit. We hope this helps!

dSPACE, thank you for your response! The LED tape light information was very helpful. To be a little more specific, I see a couple of light switches on the wall. How many are there? What do each of them turn off/on? How is the LED tape light wired? Is it to an unseen outlet? Hardwired to a switch? Are there any pictures of what the set up looks like behind the mirror? Thanks again for all of your help!!

Hello, In the photo you can see 2 items on the wall (just left of the sink). One is the code required GFCI outlet . The the other item is a keypad for the lighting. This project utilizes Lutron's Homeworks system for lighting control. Regarding the LED lighting--this is connected to the switch on the wall (in this case, a Lutron keypad). You can connect LED to any LED rated light switch and typically have an LED transformer as part of the system. We hope information is helpful.

Hi, great question. This vanity is attached to the wall on either side and has a steel support structure below to ensure that is securely attached to the walls. We positioned the vanity 3 inches forward of the floor-to-ceilling mirror to create a dramatic illusion of depth. Our stone fabricator was able to cut the slabs of white marble to the exact size for a perfect fit. We used sink by WetStyle and special short p-trap to eliminate any chance of seeing unsightly plumbing below or in the mirror! All the details count! Thanks for asking and good luck with your projects. - dSPACE Studio

You can do a simple vanity with two 2 x 12 and either legs (jacks in the wall ) formed as a box and nailed or best screwed to the wall. Remember to add led down lights. You can also cut the duplex out let in the front if you center your hole.

Hi, great question. We designed this ceiling detail with a double step drywall ceiling border using two layers of 1/2” drywall. This creates elegant shadow lines and defines the room. Details like this take architectural elements beyond just being very nice and make them truly superb. We used a tracery pattern that is available from Decorator's Supply in Chicago. The tracery pattern is No. 7859 and was adhered to a MDF backing.

Hello, and thank you for your question.

The flooring seen in this project is Bianco Dolomitti from Stone Source here in Chicago. It is a white marble with subtle veining. Since this is a natural material, there will be slight differences when comparing individual slabs. Be sure to visit a vendor to view the slab selections in person. We hope this helps, and good luck with your project!

Thanks so much for appreciating our work. The white marble is a unique block from Italy called Bianco Dolomiti and we sourced this through Stone Source USA. It is a much less expensive option to Calacatta. It has a contemporary feel with the subtle, linear veining. We ordered the larger size tile 16" x 32" to create a more substantial appearance and used a 1/16th grout joint. Thanks again - dSPACE Studio Ltd. www.dspacestudio.com

Thank you! Regarding the tracery detail behind the floating mirror, we opted to use MDF wood tracery in lieu of plaster. The tracery pattern was inspired by the limestone tracery on the facade of the home. The product was sourced from Decorators Supply here in Chicago. Their website is www.decoratorssupply.com and phone is (800) 792-209.

dSPACE Studio designed this custom white marble sink to fit the space perfectly. All marble corners and edges have a 45-degree miter with white epoxy for a seamless design. The sink is suspended with attachments at the side walls to create the floating installation. A floor to ceiling mirror with back edge lighting completes the design. Thanks for your inquiry.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Pangaea Interior Design, Portland, OR added this to Crown Molding: Is It Right for Your Home?
In the powder room, this same two-layer drywall ceiling detail gives the illusion that there is crown molding without actually using any at all. If you have an 8-foot ceiling, but would like the look of crown molding, this would be a great option that wouldn't make the ceiling look lower.
Shane D. Inman added this to Designer's Touch: 10 Powerful Powder Rooms
9. Mirror, mirror. Make your extra-small powder bathroom seem double its size by installing a floor-to-ceiling mirorr. Not only will the room appear larger, but the space will seem brighter.
Lisa Frederick added this to 11 Lighting Fixtures That Rethink the Flush Mount
A sinuous semiflush mount underscores the sleek, sexy aura of this small bath.
Bud Dietrich, AIA added this to The Transformative Power of Ceiling Trim
The addition of trim to a ceiling, whether it’s simply a layer or two of drywall or some painted wood, can transform even a small and simple powder room into quite an elegant space. And this can easily be done in a remodel where the intent is to create a very special room at a truly minimal cost.

What Houzzers are commenting on:

Kathleen W added this to Ceilings

simple counter with flat front, not all the way to the floor, just enough to cover plumbing. Can brace up on sides underneath. Have it open around a small sink, deep enough to hold toilet paper rolls.
