May I ask what a ceiling like that goes for. Materials and man labor? I just need to know if this will ever be attainable for an average girl like me, and what type of financial goals I need to setup to attain it.
Thank you! I love your work, absolutely love it!

Hi, great question. A custom plaster ceiling like the one shown here in the image is not an inexpensive undertaking. It's hard to give you a sense of cost without know more about the application, size of the room and how labor intricate your pattern would be. We'd be happy to discuss the process we went through and talk to you more about what you could expect the costs to be. Please feel free to contact us at info@dspacestudio.com or (773) 432-2920 for more information about this ceiling and the process we went through. Having said that, we highly recommend finding a plaster contractor in your area to discuss the job with. Having a plaster contractor you trust and who can show you examples of previous work is key to getting this type of ceiling installed correctly. Thanks for your question and good luck with your project.

The plaster tracery ceiling detail works best with higher ceilings due to the 1.5 inch drop. It is a handcrafted detail so the closer you are the to the ceiling the more likelihood you would see imperfections. 8'-0" may be a little low. Perhaps your contractor can install a small area for you to review. Seeing a mock up is always the safest bet. Good luck and send us your final photos. Kevin

I think going for the grey is a good idea because the fireplace is white and the two colours would come out good but with more white it would lack texture. Also if grey is the only colour you're going for then I think choosing it would be a good option to maximise colour.:)

We typically start by having a conversation with the homeowner about what items they will need to store, how much storage they will need and what percentage of there items need to be accessed daily, monthly or only once or twice a year. From there we designate spaces throughout the project to be used towards these storage needs. A closet company might be a great resource for you when you are thinking about the amount and types of storage you will need. These companies have closet designers on staff and can also fit out the closets with organization systems to help you get the most use out of our your space. Thanks for the question and good luck with your project.
