Can you share the link to the BH&G article? Or perhaps you have a shot showing the kitchen in relation to the dining/living areas?

We uploaded another couple of shots that show the dining area which is across from the kitchen, and the living area in relation to the kitchen area.

We don’t always have access to the paint colors, and even when we do it's important to note that the same color can appear vastly different from one room to another.

Many factors affect the perception of color. The light source (i.e. incandescent, fluorescent, halogen, LED) will influence the feel of the color, with the orientation of the room and percentage of available natural light adding another layer. Other circumstances such as the colors of the fixed and furnished elements in the room; the paint finish as well as the surface texture (smooth walls will appear lighter, and rough appear darker) all contribute to how well a color works in a room.

Our suggestion would be to try a range of swatches (lighter and darker) associated with the color that you like.

We found an interesting article explaining some factors to consider when choosing paint color >> http://www.angieslist.com/articles/9-factors-consider-when-choosing-color-your-home.htm

We’ve been testing some on-line tools that allow you to upload a photo of your room and try various colors on the walls. Benjamin Moore has a tool called COLOR GALLERY one that will give you a range of color related chips.

We used COLOR GALLERY to match the color you are interested in, and here are the results, Terrapin Green 2145-20 or Winding Vines 532.

Greetings! Happy to share the color, but I totally agree with their comments above about color, this kitchen looks incredibly different at different times of the day! The color is La Fonda Olive, Valspar by Lowes. Painting really big samples and living with them for a bit is key!

Greetings. Your best bet is to get some wood samples and do a ton of mock ups. That's what I typically do with clients - trial and error!

It was a paint cut with a glaze of some sort, the painter figured it out after multiple rounds! I am sorry, I have that paint schedule dead filed, I don't have that number in the office. I believe it might have been Ben Moore Nimbus though!

Planked ceiling? - What is depth of wood planks used for ceiling? Drywall behind? And what type of insulation? Can't seem to find answers on using wood for a ceiling anywhere - probably not looking in the right spot! Many thanks!

Hello Kathy. The architect informs me that the ceiling is an antique barn board ranging from 3/4” to 1”, over drywall and spray foam insulation. The home is in Maine and I believe they sourced the antique. I hope this helps with your project!

Soapstone. Not sure who it was from, but take a look at the counter tops at Jewett Farms

I like the rustic overall finish of this island; also having power access on side of island a must. prefer overhang to be a bit bigger
