Thanks! Nice job did you find the ipe difficult or too costly?

We have worked with Atlantis Rail Systems. The installation was fairly simple. You can check them out at atlantisrail.com

We are building a house with very similar railings now - sourced them from Keuka Studios. Their Ithaca Style has very light posts and intermediate spreaders to maximize the view. This custom design looks great; we'd planned to go that route but with so much finish work to do it was too hard to piece it together on our own.

Hey there. Are all of those woods pre treated? Like saturated or thermal treated? Because If we use Ipe, Cedar, Redwood, Garapa, Mahogany, Teak for outdoors I doubt they stay in shape like new after a few years of weathering ?

Ipe only requires oiling to keep it appearance if you do not oil it then it will just silver with age but will still be a great decking for 40+ years. Teak is comparable but more expensive. Here is a good comparison of decking materials: http://www.eastteak.com/comparing-decking-materials-price-density-hardness/

What is the thickness of the Ipe top rail, and of the intermediate posts?

    Thank you.
