I'm sorry, I don't know for sure and don't have any floor plans for it! It's on the smaller side and my guess is that the stove wall is 8' and the sink wall is 6'. Good luck on your project!! :O)

i have a slab that we got with a display cabinet piece that had a very elaborate bullnose (or built up edge) that also made it look very thick -- I was told that to duplicate it and put it all around our kitchen would be very costly. Do you know if there is a nice way to do that without incurring so much expense?
where do I learn how to do a nice edge that looks thick like this one. It does appear as thick at 2". but you say the slabs are all about 1" thick right?

Slabs vary in thickness, but a reputable stone fabricator should be able to give you a quote based on the material and edge fabrication. The rounded edge is pretty much standard and a "pre-fabricated" in stock item, so they're less, but the only way to have this look is to go custom.

What would be the size I would need for this kitchen if I am looking at the kitchen and the table space? How much space do you allow between the counter and the island? How far does the counter go to the left of the sink? Thank you for your advice.

I believe the island is 40" x 22"... as for the distance from the counter, I usually want at least 30" clearance on all sides so that you can easily move around... :O)

It's a dining room / Kitchen combo... My estimate is that the wall with the stove is 11.5' and 14' to the other side of the table. In trying to calculate, know that counter depth is 24", stoves are generally 30-36" wide as are refrigerators and sinks. Hope this is helpful! :O)

Hi, I'm sorry but I don't recall the size of the room and don't have the time to unearth the info. If you're planning on renovating your kitchen, you might want to hire a designer to do the layout for you if nothing else so that it's the best use of your space. :o)

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Debbie Snider added this to Carrara vs. Calacatta Marble: What Is the Difference?
Carrara: The backsplash has an overall gray tone and provides the color in this white kitchen.
Dana Miller added this to Home Above the Range: Smart Uses for Cooktop Space
In a small kitchen, a vented microwave over the cooktop is a practical solution. For a custom look, continue cabinetry above the microwave.
Apartment 46 for the Home added this to Small, Slim and Super: Compact Kitchen Islands That Offer Big Function
The key to adding a small island or cart is to understand what your needs are and then find a piece that addresses several of them at once. It’s recommended that an island be no less than 40 by 40 inches (1 by 1 meter) for a small kitchen, but if you’re using an elongated table as opposed to a square, you’ll want to go for something no less than 24 inches (61 centimeters) wide to give yourself enough work space.
