Country entryway photo in New York

19th Century Farmhouse Renovation; updated photos by Mick Hales

The mudroom in the new side entrance enters into the kitchen/family room and the view continues out to the new wrap around porch. You also access a powder room, the laundry and the butler’s pantry. There are built in cubbies as well as hanging pegs and shoe storage under the bench.

The bead board paneling is painted Revere Pewter by Ben Moore. I am glad you like it!

I love the bench! (with it's shoe storage) Where is it from?

Thank you so much. We custom designed it and Bill Stratton Builders built it. I have found that open shoe storage below a bench in a mudroom works so much better than hidden storage which requires the extra step of lifting the seat (usually covered with other items!) or pulling out drawers. The under bench storage is much more likely to be used if shoes can just be kicked off beneath it!

love this! What height is bench, what depth?

Thank you so much! I try to make benches similar in height to a comfortable chair. Some where about 18" to the top of the cushion. The depth can vary from 14 to 18" depending on your space.

Your carpenter can rout out the beaded edges of the Tongue and Groove boards, or some lumber yards may carry it.
