Thanks - when you say built up...Im not clear on what that means. Love that the wall is textured without the extra "ooze" some of the board form applications have.

Sorry, by boards we assumed you where talking about the stair treads (built up = laminate assembly). The concrete form work was done with 2x6's.

Hard to quantify that... Design Time, Concrete Wall, Metal Work, Wood Work... a bunch of trades...

I am assuming this is a poured concrete wall...How did you achieve the wood grain texture? Did you use prefab form liners? If so, who was the manufacturer? Or was it custom, on-site formwork?

2Stone Designer Concrete
Its board formed concrete. We have just put out a tile product that mimics this look, unfortunately I don't have any professional photos yet but you can check out one on our facebook page " 2Stone Designer Concrete"

It is a light weight concrete product that easily ships and can be installed by any tile installer, for more info or to request some better photos (Sorry again) please check our our website and contact the studio www.2Stone.ca

Hope this clears it up!

Love the wall - What are your thoughts on doing this wall as the waterfall wall for a infinity edge pool?

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Grace Chamia added this to Pro Panel: ‘The Material I Love to Work With Most’
Off-Form and Board-Formed ConcreteDesign consultant James Cooper of Sanctum Design: I am loving off-form concrete and particularly board-formed concrete. As both a structural and decorative element, it requires a good builder-form worker to get it right. However, it is well worth the effort. Used in structural blade and feature walls, fireplace chimneys and landscape elements, an off-form wall adds valuable thermal mass and structural expression.Board-formed concrete, made by using timber boards as the formwork, is later stripped to reveal the boards’ patterns. If done well, it can read like lime-washed timber, more than like concrete, and provide wonderful soft, light gray tones, with the reversed grain and knots from the timber creating a beautifully natural finish.

What Houzzers are commenting on:

Stefanie S added this to The Cabin
Like the metal railing: simplicity of the bars, they look delicate, narrow banister

board formed concrete looks pretty cool.
Tradition Construction LLC added this to Tikku Deck
awesome example of the contrast with the board formed concrete wall and the modern stair design.
Tamara added this to Ceilings, Walls and Floors
Stamped concrete. Need this somewhere on the property.
