Where is that shower head and arm from?

  • monika2024
Hi there. the shower arm seems long and the head is quite large- did you find that the arm had very slight movement? I'm concerned that the elbow fitting that the arm is attached to inside the wall will come loose from the wood blocking behind it.. Had any issues with long arms and heavy shower heads- every one I've researched was at least 3 lbs? Thanks in advance.

Linear shower drains are designed purposely to get the drain out of the middle of the shower. That was done so as to allow all the tiles to slope in one direction. Therefore, allowing for larger tiles to be used on the floor of the shower. The tiles could then possibly match those in the remainder of the bath. Therefore, creating a cleaner, uncluttered look. In addition, it allows for the curb at the entrance to the shower to be eliminated.

The recessed niche is tiled along the back, and we used a solid surface of the same color tone to create 1/2" thick edges and shelf, opposed to most natural stone or quartz manufacturers who typically only go as low as 3/4"

Thank you very much for the compliments. The floor tile is called "Pietra Di Basalto" manufactured by NovaBell. The color is Naturale Salvia, which actually has a subtle muted gray- green coloration which adds a bit of warmth to it.

If the shower has good ventilation, such as an appropriate exhaust fan in the shower ceiling and a good amount of open space between the top of the shower glass and the ceiling, this can be done without issues. It does requires proper detailing, proper materials and paint ,and construction techniques, to prevent moisture and condensation migration.

It is also easiest accommodated in showers without doors, so the steam can be exhausted and not be trapped in the shower area.
