Global Syn-Turf - Artificial Grass Supplier

Creative Water Features Inc., maintenance consists of as little as brooming (if you wish to restore the fiber memory) and raking (if you want to remove the leaves). You should check out some of our grasses at www.globalsynturf.com, or call us at 877-SYN-TURF for free samples.

Robert Paulsen, the heat of the turf can be regulated with hose or sprinkler water.

It was either Meranti or Ipe. I don't recall the final species that was selected in the end.

I really like the simplicity of this backyard. Do you know what type of tree they used in this backyard? I really like how they are hall and thin branch. http://greatlandtree.com/landscaping-service

00cutno, it really depends on your needs. Do you have pets? Children? Different products offer different features and benefits. However, lower-end products may not provide the natural look you're after. Look for something with a low sheen, multiple blade colors and a beige/brown or multi-colored thatch for a product that looks like the real thing. You can check out our product comparison here: http://www.synlawn.com/artificial-grass-products/residential-product-comparison/ Our distributors usually have samples you can look at, so just ask. Good luck!

It is interesting how many people have added this photo to their idea books and how many people are using artificial turf these days. It certainly is not a choice that suits everyone's taste as some comments suggest, but it has it's place for certain conditions. For a dog run in the wet and rainy climate of Oregon, it is a excellent material choice.

Way to show class and not stooping to the back and forth rhetoric that belongs more on political blogs, not houzz.
Myself, not sure about artificial turf. But the zero maintenance and water needed is proving itself as a viable option for AZ, CA, and other states that are water conscious.

Love this fencing! - I would love to know the construction on the opposite side of the fence? Aesthetically and security-wise? It is absolutely gorgeous and would be the perfect compliment to our deck- but we have some wide areas that would be facing the road. Not certain if it could be a replacement for a standard privacy fence on a larger property?

kinlaw (Zone 7b/8a, GA), what are you using artificial grass for? AstroTurf is a brand of artificial grass as well as our sister company. Most care consists of hosing off the turf and periodic brushing to keep the blades groomed and fluffed up. You can view more details of our care and maintenance guidelines here: http://www.synlawn.com/do-it-yourself/care-and-maintenance/ In terms of how long it lasts, we offer a 15-year warranty, so you won't have to worry about replacing your turf for at least that long. Good luck!

I lived in Arizona and my yard was hard to green up, or water a lot!? Went by the City Hall and they put this in and I had to stop and see and feel it. Felt just like the real grass!! Just rack off leaves at times and you have a million dollar lawn over everyone else!

I'm not a fan of modern design but that design really works well and everything goes together beautifully. Seems like a perfect use of artificial grass as it goes with the other elements of the design. Nice work!

Metal edging is a standard material for landscape planter areas and walkway edges. It is custom made for these locations. You can buy metal cut to the sizes that you need from a local steel fabricator. Typically they are cut to the lengths that you need and are 4 to 5 " deep. Typically 3/16" or 1/4" thick steel. There are some lighter gage metal edging available in pre-cut lengths at garden supply outlets.

Keep in mind that if you're not in a cold climate, then the rich red bark color fades. We were thinking about this tree because of the color of the bark, but decided again it when we found this out.

We do not have a specific name or model. They are river rocks, I would suggest that you visit a local supplier to see what choices they have.

There is generally a layer of crushed rock or small stones beneath the turf that allows any water to drain. You can also lay down landscape fabric beneath the stone base so no weeds grow up through the turf.

The outside is the same. This is an enclosure for the dog run. The remainder of the yard is not fenced so security was not an issue in the design for this project.

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Laura Gaskill added this to Backyard Dreaming: 13 Ideas to Spark Your Imagination
9. Get more out of secondary areas. Are you doing anything with your side yard? If you’ve all but given up on it, thinking it was too small to work with, why not give it another look? Perhaps you could clean it up and add climbing plants or dwarf trees to provide a prettier view from inside the house. Or, if you find a bit of extra space, carve out room for a gas grill, compost container or storage shed.8 New Uses for Your Side Yard
Becky Harris added this to 10 Ways to Make the Most of Your Side Yard
8. Do your grilling. Let’s face it, no matter how far along grills have come aesthetically these days, most of them don’t exactly have the appeal of a Henry Moore sculpture in the landscape. Make a neat, tidy and tucked-away home for the grill around the side. You can keep it close to the corner so the grill master won’t feel left out of the party.
Lauren Dunec Design added this to 10 Ways to Use Artificial Turf Where It Actually Looks Good
3. ‘Green Up’ Narrow Side YardsSynthetic grass can benefit tight areas that get heavy use. This side yard in Portland, Oregon, could have been entirely covered in concrete paving, but it would have looked much more utilitarian. Artificial turf gives a greener look but can still withstand foot traffic to the grill or a recycling bin’s being pulled from the backyard to the street.
