This is two ovens, with different technologies, one is ZET1SMSS and one is ZSC2202NSS, both by GE. We purchased them separately and you can get a trim kit to add the finished look. Depending on what you are buying, your local appliance shop should be able to direct you as to what you should do with the cabinets around/between. Hope this helps! Thanks for the question!

This is natural wood. Walnut is a bit softer than an oak floor, but not as soft as pine or cherry. Because we installed a distressed, character grade wood, most imperfections will fit right in. With the tung oil finish it is also easy to touch-up.

Etsy is such a great way to get well made decorator items. Just use their search engine to find whatever you need, pillows, paintings, and my favorite -high definition photography. I happen to have an Etsy shop, nancyhehmann is the name. You can connect to it from my listing on houzz.

how exactly do you achieve the look of cabinetry on the door- is it just a 5-6 inch overlay of details the cabinetry company made and attached somehow to a regular hinged door? I'd love any more specific info for my builder as I would like to attempt a similar approach to my pantry door so it is truly "hidden". Bravo!

This particular pantry was approximately 6x7 feet in size, with 16" deep shelves. We typically recommend leaving a walkway of about 36" between shelving areas or walls. This allows for easy movement and retrieval of items. If you have 3'7" with a 12" shelf, that would leave you 2'7" for a walkway. At 31" this is tighter than we like, but could still potentially work. Or to pick up a few more inches of walkway, you could make the shelves extra deep on the 4'10" wall, and scale them back to 10" along 3'7" wall. Hope this helps!

Why does the pantry door swing in instead of outward? I will have a similar pantry in a home we are in the process of designing (pantry will also turn to the right and go under stairs behind the kitchen wall) and our designer has the door open into the kitchen. I assume it is to use wall space in the pantry instead of having door opening into it. Thank you.

Hello! Mixing woods is a great way to add layers and interest and warmth to a space. Here are few possible tips for mixing wood tones - 1. Treat very dark or light wood floors like you would a neutral carpet or tile and feel free to add in different wood tones with furniture. 2. Woods with Brown undertones, as opposed to yellow or red, tend to combine well. 3. Keep your woods warm. In this photo both wood tones are warm colors, versus cool ones. Hope this helps!!

A lot depends on the type of floor that you have, and the pegs. In most cases the pegs are either a different species of wood, or they are oriented as end grain. In either case, the pegs should be naturally darker when finished. Without knowing for sure what you have... as long as you know for sure you are re-sanding your floors... test a small area by sanding and top-coating with the stain/finish of your choice. This will give you an idea of what the pegs will end up looking like. Your re-finisher, would typically help you select the color and finish by by doing the same thing prior to starting the job. Good luck!

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Shawn Gauthier added this to Blended Doors for Standout Style
You could disguise your pantry door with a chalkboard on top and mimic cabinetry on the bottom. Visitors will be stunned when they go to write a note and the door falls open to an additional room.
Nicole White Designs Interiors LLC added this to Stock Up on These Stylish Pantry Door Ideas
This subtle door actually opens inward, like a secret passageway. This clever technique avoids a door that cuts into the main kitchen area.

What Houzzers are commenting on:

Lisa Tuggle added this to Design Ideas
We think that there should be 21-24” of counter between the frig and the wall oven. It seems to look and work better than having the two appliances immediately next to each other. By our calculations, there is sufficient wall space. We will also change from a double wall oven to a microwave/convection oven over a wall oven as shown here.
