jitmb, this is an old pull-down, classroom-style map found at Portland's Monticello Antique Marketplace. If you're not in Portland, check your local antique shops, school/city auctions or ebay. Best of luck on your search!

Very nice. I love the Island. Where did you get it at?

The island was designed by Arciform designer Anne De Wolf and built custom by Versatile Wood Products. You can check out some of Versatile's other work at www.versatilewp.com.

The window shade was provided by stylist Shannon Quimby for the shoot. It is a vintage map sourced through a vintage shop in Portland. If you look closely, you can see that the map shows the traditional territories of different Native American tribes. You can find great resources for vintage maps online. Just be sure you measure the opening first to be sure the map will fit the location you have in mind.

katyfreeman27, thanks for asking. This was a 1980's brass chandelier salvaged locally by the client. She had it gessoed to refresh it, and voila: new life for a tired fixture! Check ebay, craigslist, or your closest thrift or salvage shop for the fixture. Check with a local paint shop or artist for the gesso work if you do not want to do it yourself.
