The cabinet was custom designed by our Studio. The size of this kitchen called for some clever space-saving storage solutions—this cabinet built into stud space is perfect for this project. Be sure to check out more photos of our projects at dhdstudio.com!

I believe this color is Benjamin Moore Moonlight Drive. A friendly reminder about selecting paint color: the colors you're seeing are coming through a computer monitor from a digital camera. They will vary drastically from the real thing. We select wall color as the very last item from a series of fan decks that we hold against all the other components in the room, tile, stone, flooring, stained finish samples, hardware finish... It would be smart to do likewise on your project as you may want a similar but not exact color to the one we used here that better matches your room.

This sort of niche can be left uncovered for modern-style open shelving or given its own set of doors like a typical cabinet to suit any style of decor.

A pantry cabinet recessed in the wall holds canned goods and other nonperishables.

Pantries. Do you have too much pantry space? (I hear crickets.) Does anyone ever really have enough pantry storage? If you’ve got an unused wall in your kitchen, consider using it to store canned goods and jars, as seen here, or stemware, vases and serving pieces. Notice the trim and the door design, which not only conceal the storage but add interest to an otherwise blank wall. Though cost will vary, Deidra Anderson, marketing administrator at David Heide Design Studio, says this project cost $1,300 to $1,900.Store more in new pantry cabinets
