10x12 Americana Photographer's Studio Contemporary Shed, Los Angeles

10x12 Studio Shed home office - Lifestyle Interior plus our added height option. The standard height of most models is 8'6" but you can choose to add 1 or even 2 extra feet of ceiling height. Our small kit "Pinyon" sits perpendicular to the office, holding garden tools and other supplies in a 4x8 footprint. The concrete pad, which extends to serve as the interior floor as well, was poured and stained by the home owner once the design phase of his project was complete.

I love your modern sheds style, the exposed raw steel is getting big in Australia, lots of building companies starting to use these sorts of materials.

@leej14 - thanks for the compliments! Our metal trim is aluminum cladding which is custom fabricated in our factory, while the metal wainscot and roof are a high-grade Galvalume.

Hi there! Depending on the location, many Studio Shed owners do not require any special equipment to heat/cool their space. Our Lifestyle™ Interior provides a very efficient and well-conditioned insulated space. Many owners find that a small space heater does the job during the colder months. For warmer months, a small fan with open windows works well. Finally, a few of our customers have added a mini-split (for example: http://www.grunaire.com/) heating/cooling system for even greater and more precise comfort. This is a ductless system that most contractors or installers will be familiar with. Thanks for the question and let us know if we can help with your Studio Shed!

Check your local zoning ordinances. Every municipality has different restrictions when it comes to sheds and other accessory buildings. Many codes will dictate the size of your structure and how far it must be from your property line. “The vast majority of counties across the [United States] allow up to 120 square feet without a permit,” says Jeremy Horgan-Kobleski, the founder of Studio Shed, which manufacturers prefab sheds like the home office seen here. “That’s why our 10-foot by 12-foot unit is the most popular and one of the reasons we’re seeing a surge in the popularity of these structures.” He says typically these structures must be sited about 3 to 5 feet from the property line. (Even if your city doesn’t require a permit, it will still have general rules about where your structure can be sited on your lot, so always check first.)
