2011 AIA Austin Tour - Farm HouseFarmhouse Kitchen, Austin

The hub of this farmhouse is the L-shaped kitchen with two sinks anchored by the restored Chambers stove and custom stainless vent hood. Leather-texture soapstone counters will patina over time, as will the Loblolly Pine floors.

    Shipping is actually quite inexpensive.

Whatever the cost, it will be worth it. These things can last several lifetimes. Made long before our "throw away" society started building crap.

I have a blue chambers stove & it still has its legs. But I heard you can get wheels with the (bolt/threaded) posts that fit in the holes where the legs screw in. That's what I am gonna get for my stove soon. Theirs has the black panel that is 3 pieces that wraps around the bottom to cover the legs. FYI-the "legs" are like carriage bolts that bend easily when you try to move/slide the stove around on its legs. (That's probably what happened to yours.) But you can replace the legs with carriage bolts.

Very tue. The legs on Chambers often become problematic after many years. There are several ways to go about fixing them.

HI! That is shiplap installation and just painted white. No big trick!

Well, they are beautiful. It seems like the coat is just thin enough so the wood grain shows through?

They are reclaimed loblolly pine from a factory. They were milled locally and have 3 coats of clear polyurethane in satin finish. Thank you

Your installers did a great job. The floors are very pretty.

It's a custom color that matches her Araucana Chicken eggs. Sherwin Williams has similar color: SW6211 Rainwashed

The dining chandelier was Pottery Barn. Not sure if they still have the exact same style, but likely something similar! Thank you

Totally different. But love the table on wheels in the centre of the room.
