I have a passion for phormiums that goes way back. I love their instant architecture but the diversity of the species is what blows me away. I used 2 maori phormiums to play off eachother and the result is really lovely.

    Looks like a type of flax. I have some in my yard too.

    I think you're right nantucket. This looks like New Zealand Flax (Phormium tenax) to me. There are a lot of different cultivars of this species that can give you stripes, red foliage, etc.

    I love this garden.
