Are the stairs natural granite? How big are the stringers? they look great!

Yes, they are hones granite with a split face edge on all sides. These can be purchased pre fabricated from most custom stone suppliers and are surprisingly affordable. The stringers can be made of anything really. If they are going to be wood we recommend solid material such as 6x6 fir with a sealer on the cut edges. We feel that a central stringer is important especially for stairs 5' or wider both for safety and rigidity. The slabs are glued to the stringers with heavy duty construction adhesive.

They are one of a myriad of local railing manufacturers. Sorry we don't have their name as they were sourced through the contractor.

We used 1x6 tongue and groove select hemlock with a "V" grooved joint. Paint colour was Benjamin Moore CC-40 "Cloud White"
