I have now purchased a similar antique to re-purpose in this way. What diameter rods did you use? How did you mount them to the sides? And at what height internally did you mount the front and back ones? The internal size of each of my 4 glass units is approximately 75mmW x 37mmH x 32mmD. The side panels seem fairly thin, so am concerned about drilling into them without adding wood to the sides internally. Thanks for sharing this great idea.
