Dining room - eclectic dining room idea in San Francisco with gray walls

Art of Transition-Dining AreaEclectic Dining Room, San Francisco

A spine wall serves as the unifying concept for our addition and remodeling work on this Victorian house in Noe Valley. On one side of the spine wall are the new kitchen, library/dining room and powder room as well as the existing entry foyer and stairs. On the other side are a new deck, stairs and “catwalk” at the exterior and the existing living room and front parlor at the interior. The catwalk allowed us to create a series of French doors which flood the interior of the kitchen with light. Strategically placed windows in the kitchen frame views and highlight the character of the spine wall as an important architectural component. The project scope also included a new master bathroom at the upper floor. Details include cherry cabinets, marble counters, slate floors, glass mosaic tile backsplashes, stainless steel art niches and an upscaled reproduction of a Renaissance era painting.

Love the inset metal boxes w/ sculpture. Absolutely love the painting! Gives the elegantly defined but conservative room zing - the tone ref to your architecture.

We commissioned this painting from a local artist. He copied a painting from the Spanish Renaissance. You might be able to find a similar print somewhere, or commission someone to make you copy.

The art is very nice. What is its name and who is the artist? Generally in the UK there is a company which can turn every art into mural. It is called "Surface view" and they are brilliant. Used them before and they ar e vy helpful.

The painting is a copy of a Spanish Renaissance painting. The copy was done by a local artist who is a friend of mine. He is very talented and also does wonderful, original paintings in a modern style.

My client already had the chairs before we designed this room. I am sorry but I don't know the manufacturer.

The painting is lit from recessed down lights and the busts are lit from below by uplights built into the custom shelving unit we designed.

It is not a print, but a custom painting. It is a copy of a Spanish Renaissance painting, executed by a friend of mine.

This painting is of Saint Jerome, the Patron Saint of Libraries. I just made that up, but it would be great if it were true.
