better flow - the mudroom / laundry roomTraditional Laundry Room, Chicago

The mudroom laundry / laundry room features a custom set of cubbies for the family of six. Each adult and child has their own space for storing shoes, sports gear, coats and more. A place to sit and take off shoes and boats is created by the lowest shelf as it bows outward to form a seat.

I was wondering if you could send me the drawings for this project. I am redoing our mud room and this is exactly what my wife wants. Thanks jeremyfabian@hotmail.com

Just some stock lumber with a min number of knots, etc. Sanded smooth and painted. A reasonably inexpensive approach.

Know that there is no single story. Homes may be filled with many people as well as their pets. We each have a story to tell and, together, we have our family narrative. Our homes, like the best of opera, should allow for each story to occur simultaneously without just creating noise.

Assign everyone in the family an individual cubby or set of hooks. Maximize the storage potential of your entryway or mudroom by making it as efficient as possible. “A cubby or set of hooks for each person in your home reduces clutter and allows everyone to have their own personal storage compartment,” says Rozalia Kiss, design manager at transForm. “Plus, your loved ones won’t take your gloves if they can find their own.”

I don't think I like cubbies. Do they make sense more than an open wall.
