Inspiration for a large traditional partial sun backyard landscaping in Boston for summer.

Birdhouse garden & garden shed.

Traditional Landscape, Boston

A bird house is the focal point of these back yard gardens. The post height ensures plenty of room for tall perennials. The shed has attained a lovely patina including moss growth on the roof. Vintage watering cans on the side of the shed complete the garden theme. Photo & design by Bob Trainor. Birdhouse by Walpole Outdoors

This is beautiful. What kind of light/shade does the area get? Also, is that a hydrangea on the other side of the path, to the left of the chair?

Thanks for your interest. To the left of the chair is a pink shrub rose. It is starting to get more shady there and I was actually thinking of replacing it with a Hydrangea. To the right of the shed are tall pines but the front of the border on that side gets half day sun. Behind and to the left of the garden is a woodland casting shade on the back of the garden. For the most part the garden gets full sun. (south western exposure)
