I am really glad to read these posts. Now I know WHY my suction cup holder from BBB did not stay in place. Kept falling to the bottom and drove me crazy thinking I wasn't positioning it correctly. And the Blanco holders need one set of magnets on the "back underside" of sink - how to put on when sink already installed, and some people say the magnets aren't strong enough to keep the holder from falling to bottom of sink. I do have an over the faucet holder, but don't really like it, but it's all there is to get stuff off the bottom of the sink. Blanco needs to come up with something workable.

I’m considering a Silgranit sink, and your question got my attention! In the past I’ve seen that they make tip out kits to retrofit the cabinet face to hold all your little scrubbies. Maybe that’s an option... What did you end up doing?

Thank you! Is there an online sheet or do you recommend just calling blanco?

They have a spec sheet and most of their information on their website you can also call Blanco directly.

Yes it is a drain board. You can cut on it and it comes with a walnut cutting board.

How can you cut on granite? Won't that ruin your knives? Wouldn't the material have to have a bit of give - a Corian type, or something - to work as a cutting board?
  • Madhvi
Kevin, You are right. Can not be good for the knives.

This picture was taken from the manufacture directly. I am not sure because it is not one of our clients but it looks like carrara marble. Thanks!

I have this sink in brown! It is the centrepiece of my kitchen. So different from all the farmhouse style sinks. Everyone loves it!

The Metallic Grey by Blanco is a lighter gray color - the photo here appears to be darker - and that would be the Blanco Cinder finish.

This is a Blanco pull down kitchen faucet and it comes in Chrome and Satin Nickel.
    Chrome: $486.50
    Satin Nickel: $647.50
    (plus shipping and tax)
It typically takes about 2 weeks for us to get it if Blanco has it in stock. Please let me know if you have any other questions or would like to order it.

Yes it will not rust. It is made of crushed granite. There is no metal in the sink so therefore it won't rust. Very, very durable.

Hi This is a composite sink so there is no need for extra support. You install it like a regular undermount sink and cut the whole for the granite including the drain board. If you have any other questions please email me at

          What Houzz contributors are saying:

Rachel Grace added this to Kitchen Sinks: Granite Composite Offers Superior DurabilityMar 23, 2013

The basics: Granite composite sinks are about 80 percent granite and 20 percent acrylic resin. The combination of granite and acrylic makes for an extremely durable material and surface, beating out quartz composite for strength and scratch resistance. Commonly found in dark hues, granite composite can be custom made in an array of matte colors.Cost: From $250 to $550. These sinks are so reasonably priced mainly because they're a blend of materials and not solid granite.
