Thanks for the compliment Linda. This is not the client asking. Nothing needs to be done. This is a question from a home owner who may have similar cabinets, but has more modern taste and was asking us for advice.

I like this look, it's a bit old school but she has a wonderful collection of pretties to display and probably a sunny disposition to match. And Scottish baronial plaid chairs - I'm all for tartans! Great job!

Thank you so much! You are so sweet to respond. I still love the colors, but we ended up going with a lovely blue rather than the cream tones. Our room is so bright and drenched with sunlight, the creams were a bit too washed out. (Hope your trip abroad was fab!)

You are most welcome Deb. Sounds wonderful. As I tell everyone, color needs to be chosen appropriate to the environment, which is significantly influenced by light.

Unfortunately as a result of the recession manufacturers have discontinued more fabrics than usual. Best of luck finding something similar.

The table is custom, correct? Who made the table for you?

It is not custom, but the manufacturer is no longer in business, a victim of the recession.

The clients ordered from an online retailer, with our approval of course :)

The cute shades remind me of some very similar to Currey Lighting's. It may even be their fixture as it looks like one of their finishes. Go to curreylighting.com

    It is an antique piece.
  • Gina Johnson
That is quite an interesting fixture. The shades are really retro and cool. You may be able to find something along these lines at Hudson Valley, but this is quite an interesting piece. Antique pieces like this are really great centerpieces to rooms because they can't generally be found elsewhere.

It is, however the manufacturer went out of business. Martin of London makes some similar product.

I am not quite sure what you are asking ichalek. Are you referring to the table in the front, which is part of the breakfast room? It is a custom piece.

Thank you very much for the kind compliment. Unfortunately the fabric has been discontinued. But there are a few companies that make traditional tartans. Try Ralph Lauren, Kravet and Holland & Sherry.

Style Secret: Clear, Warm ColorsWhether they’re bright, deep or pastel, French country colors have a gentleness about them that translates to instant comfort. Whites are warm, not stark; think cream, ecru, ivory. Other colors pull directly from the landscape: dusty sages and lavenders, sunny yellows and sky blues, peony pinks and brick reds. New-world chic: Essentially, this kitchen and dining area comprises a trio of primary colors. Yet the nuances in the palette take them into more sophisticated territory: creamy yellow, rich red, muted royal blue. Because the stronger colors are used only in small dabs, they don’t overtake the laid-back attitude of the space.A design pro can help you select the perfect French country furniture and decor for your home
