I assume you do not work for clients in the Midwest, correct?

We primarily do work in our own geographical area, but we've occasionally done work outside of Santa Barbara as well. Feel free to message us if you'd like to inquire further - we'd love to hear what you have in mind!

This was actually an existing bungalow that was remodeled with a small addition. For inquiries about your own project please email us directly at: info@nmaarchitects.com. Thanks for your interest in our work!

where can I buy this front door?

  • Ed

I currently have a MCM built 1967 in Florida with 2:12 roof with metal roof. In my county this is the lowest slope that you can have a metal roof. I plan on building a smaller version with same roof as love metal and have had no problem once roofer fixed the cricket around the fireplace. I love big windows/brick!

Thank you! This was a complete renovation of a classic
1950’s ranch style bungalow. We loved and appreciated the “old bones”
and classic design detailing of the original home. Our challenge was to
preserve that original character, while at the same time, updating and
transforming the architecture to achieve our client’s desire for a contemporary
design aesthetic more in tune with modern living and entertaining.

    Here are some "before" photos:

Darn it. Most 1950's ranches and bungalows here have the dumb flat ceilings. I was hoping you started with a flat and made it vaulted bc that's what I want to do and not sure it's really possible :-/

For your specific remodel though, kudos! You really transformed the place and it looks awesome (as a stand alone project and in relation to the befores)!!!

Coral stone pavers are use for the walkways. Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our work.

Thanks, I should have been more clear - I'm wondering about the exterior of the home. Is that stone? A veneer? Thanks!

Because they are proprietary, we do not share floor plans on this site. We are happy, however, to answer any questions you may have about the dimensions of the spaces shown. Also, please feel free to email us directly with your inquiry. Thank you for your interest in our work.

How Do You Build a House?Keep in mind what architect Charles Moore once said: “If you care enough you just do it. You bind the goods and trappings of your life together with your dreams to make a place that is uniquely your own. The crucial ingredient is concern, care for the way that a house is built and the shape it gives to your life.”
