    Hi Bungalowrthouzz,

    Like San Diego Cable Railing stated, Ipe does need good ventilation and drainage, but all woods do. The propensity for any wood to expand and contract in low ventilation is very likely so what ends up happening is boards having the potential to expand and buckle or shrink and warp.

    The ideal material would be something like Deck Tiles since they are built specifically to go right on top of concrete or any flat surface.
