Did you hem the edges of the stainless backsplash or did you just butt up the pieces next to one another? If you had to do over, are there recommendations you would make for a stainless steel backspach that runs against the whole back wall?

Hello Cary, we live in Lafayette and are looking for a work table for our new kitchen. Where did you buy yours? It looks slightly different from the Metro.

Stainless steel backsplashes are typically made by sheet metal subcontractors or by custom metal fabricators. Your general contractor should have this kind of resource.

Metro uses 304 gauge steel for its work tables. There are commercial grade (and NSF certified) so they should more than suffice for domestic applications. Find it here:

Those look like stainless steel appliance pulls. Search for that and you should be able to find some that you like.

Based on the open shelf cabinet, I'm guessing painted mdf.

DurabilityWhile steel is naturally an extremely durable material, alloys can be even more durable. Stainless steel is a mix of chromium (and other elements in varying proportions) and steel; the result is a highly resilient, corrosion-resistant surface. When exposed to air, the chromium creates an invisible oxide layer on the surface, which protects the steel. It also gives it the characteristic deep luster.

      3. Sleek and simple hardware. In modern kitchens you’ll most often see C-channel hardware that’s integrated into the cabinet, as well as tubular pulls or flat linear pulls. Lots of times the horizontal lines of the cabinets will be accentuated by cabinet hardware running the full length of the drawers and doors.
