How do you paint horizontal stripes please?
  • PRO

The colors are Sherwin Williams "Worldly Gray" and "Amazing Gray". The trim color is "Shoji White".

    Thank you for your question.

Use grays and blacks with warm undertones instead of cool undertones to avoid harshness and making the room feel cold. Sherwin Williams has a warm black called "Caviar" that would be a good choice. Also, the SW colors that are on the strip with "Urbane Gray" might work for your grays. Bright colors like bold yellow are beautiful with warm grays, but use them in very small quantities. Use the black in small quantities as well. Remember that a bedroom should be restful. Vivid colors and high contrast patterns are stimulating and, therefore, must be used carefully for a bedroom.
Good luck with your project and thanks so much for your question.

Love this room.....I am going to try to make mine similar. How did you do the bottom of the bed around the box springs.

This is a platform bed. The upholstered platform is attaches to the headboard and the mattress sits on top of it. There is no need for a box spring unit. For an alternative, here are similar upholstered bed styles that do hold a box spring. Also, you could use a very tailored bedskirt and a standard mattress set and frame. The look would be very similar.
    Good luck with your project!

We used Sherwin Williams paint for this project. The stripes are alternating
"Worldly Gray" and "Amazing Gray". The trim color is "Shoji White".

    Thank you for your question!

The stripes are approximately 12" h. This room has a 10' ceiling.

    Thanks for your question!

This is a seagrass rug in the natural color with an attached pad. It is available in custom sizes through our company. If you would like to email us the dimensions, your contact information and location, we will provide a quote for you. It can also be installed wall to wall, in which case we would need your room dimensions.
    Thanks for your question.

            What Houzz contributors are saying:

In this case, horizontal lines create the impression of more space by drawing the eye to the windows.

Horizontal Stripes. One of the most stylish ways to use a dual-tone technique is with horizontal stripes. If you have a small space, the horizontality will make the walls appear longer and therefore the room bigger.
