- The deer at the end of the hall of this lodge is interesting and lovely! However, wouldn't they look so much better if the third thing in this display were more proportional to the other two. Rule of Threes is best if the proportions are complimentary. If the framed art were vertical instead of horizontal and substantially larger so that it is more proportional to the vignette, then the negative space and the vent would not be competing in such a distracting way. Also, the vent color painted the color of the wall would be far less distracting. In an undecorated space white vents are simply utilitarian and fine. Here it is visual competition. If you really want to have fun with the deer, change the framed art with the seasons. The deer have great potential.
