What Houzz contributors are saying:
Utilize a chest of drawers. The surface area on top of a chest of drawers could be the perfect space for a “dressing table” if you don’t have room for an extra piece of furniture. Even a small chest of drawers can be transformed into a makeup station, as this room demonstrates. A simple wall-hung mirror and a few well-chosen pieces create a pleasing vignette, and offer a practical spot for applying makeup and fixing hair.
5. Edit your accessories. While vintage accents and quirky accents are to be encouraged, shelves full of clutter are not. A few select items arranged with care and consideration will help to create the calm simplicity you’re after. This glass vase of hydrangeas is a great example. They provide just enough color to tie in with the gentle floral pattern of the curtain fabric, but do so without dominating the space. A simple photo frame and a small tray of accessories provide additional interest without overpowering.
A shallow chest of drawers provides storage without dominating this bedroom. An antique mirror adds a sense of light, space and history.Browse more homes by style:Small Homes | Colorful Homes | Eclectic Homes | Modern Homes | Contemporary Homes | Midcentury Homes | Ranch Homes | Traditional Homes | Barn Homes | Townhouses | Apartments | Lofts | Vacation Homes
