Hello. Your kitchen is beautiful How big is your island? I am debating on using the 7' Benson Pendants as I like the understated look of having something hanging and my designer is telling me to use 13" Benson & I like the 7" as you have. My island is 106" long.

would you say that nordic white has creamy or grey undertones?

  • PRO
    Michael Robert Construction
Not creamy per se, but if I recall, alpine white is the "whiter" (cooler) if the two whites

I'm Sorry there is no name for the color. It's done by numbers.

I understand - it is a beautiful family area that I hope to duplicate many elements of the layout! How many square feet is this main level?

    Color the island is painted?
  • PRO
    Michael Robert Construction
This island is not painted. It is a standard color from Brookhaven, a division of Woodmode (the cabinet brand).

Hi Gail! I felt that the coolness in our carrara did not go well with an off white cabinet. The bright white complements the marble much better. Had we gone with a calacatta or other white marble, an off white cabinet would have been fine.
It's hard for me to say for sure without seeing your granite, but try to get large samples of the stone and bring it home to your cabinets. Make sure te sample is from the same lot as the one you are considering, though, since the colors can vary greatly from lot to lot.
Ironically, all the trim in our house is painted f&b's winborne white! Including in the kitchen. Good luck with your project! Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Thank you Brookhaven cabinetry. They're a division of Wood Mode. Kitchen designer was Azzam Ezmat of Wayne, NJ.

This is a standard Brookhaven cabinet color- I believe number 504 or 505? There is only one like it!

The range is Thermador, as are the ovens, the refrigerator, and the hood. I'll get back to you with the dimensions.

Thank you! The flooring is 4" oak planks, #2, with 4 coats of water based poly. We went with the #2 (actually the third most "desirable" grade) intentionally so that we would have the variation in color and the natural knots for visual interest. The water-based poly gives the floor a lighter, whiter look. I didn't want the yellow or red tones to come through as they do with an oil based poly.
